I was pleasantly surprised to see the resurgence of Kensington Market in Toronto.
A number of great little restaurants have sprung up on Augusta Ave....Big Fat Burrito, Urban Herbivore,Wanda's Pie in the Sky...to name a few.
Another addition to Augusta is the Blue Banana Market which has enhanced the shopping experience with its collection of vendors selling their eclectic merchandise in partitioned stalls.

Wow, those Tiger Woods commercials must cost a fortune to produce!!
Could you have guessed, companies such as Nike invest tens, if not hundreds, of millions in making commercials and producing ad campaigns!!
Guess who's paying for them?
You......that is, if you wear these Nike shoes.
Every pair of Nike shoes that is sold has an advertising element built into the price of the shoe. In other words, the cost of advertising is built into every pair.
So here's the irony.
You see a great commercial ('what a work of art... musta cost a shitload to craft such promo!') and you go out as said ad pushes you to and purchase the shoe in your size. A percentage of the price of said shoe is an advertising cost.
You just paid for the advertising that Nike used to entice you into buying a pair of shoes!!!
Think about it!!

Toronto has become a hub for great music and the city is spawning some great indie talent. There is no shortage of interesting entertainment and there is little bit of something for every indie music lover - and it won't cost you an arm and a leg!!

I love these shoes! I bought them last year at Neon clothing (one pair in Montreal, and then in Ottawa in the same weekend). They come in a lot of fun colours, for both guys and girls and they are super comfy! They are an all-around great buy. I bought them in red/cream and purple/fushcia (I call those my "Jem" shoes for those who remember the cartoon). I want a pair in every colour possible!

Well, how should I say this...
I like music. In fact, music's my mainline thrill.... not shoes. Does that shock you?
Anyways, in being a part of the Dunnit team, I've made it a personal goal to supply local and not-so-local bands with free kicks. Several bands in Toronto, Vancouver, Seattle, and other less prominent music "scenes" have already taken advantage of my loose behaviour.

All jokes aside, this blog has been set up for discussion about Dunnit Shoes and the Dunnit culture stirring off the lit streets of Toronto, Vancouver, Montreal, and the like.
In hopes of getting even deeper into the essence of your station, we encourage and oft times reward any discussion, comments, ideas, advice, criticism...shit, we just want to get to know you! Post pictures of yourself sporting Dunnit shoes and we may just toss you a pair!

For those of you unfamiliar with Dunnits, here is a brief description:

Well, firstly, they're arguably the hottest retro sneakers on the street, all modesty aside. Dunnit shoes pride themselves in being as comfortable as they are, fashionable as they can be, colorful as reality pertains and, dagnabbit, they're affordable!
In being so, Dunnit has positioned itself as the growing staple of youth fashion, especially among students and artiste-folk, centered mainly around the fashionable streets of most Canadian metropolises but, sure 'nuff, leaked its way into our sheltered suburbs...its a pity really.
Ultimately, its a means of foot expression, people! Kick Big Brother aside dammit...while you're at it, do Little Sister in too. I can honestly say I've never heard someone complain so much in my life.
But back to the issue at hand, the Phantom, Dunnit's classic shoe, comes in over 20 different color combos - a color for every day of the menstrual cycle (?...I guess..), mood, personality...who knows. Its gotta lotta colour combos, thats all I'm saying.
Wear it, take pride in it, breathe it (highly recommended! It keeps you humble).
